approaches

Two primary approaches are used to help you tackle the struggles that keep you weighed down.  Experiential in nature, we will utilize your body and mind to allow deeper healing and lasting change.

EMDR

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy developed by Francine Shapiro that works to reduce significant distress.  Through a non-invasive method, it taps into your brain and nervous system’s natural healing process, calming intrusive images, thoughts, emotions, and body sensations.

GESTALT

Gestalt therapy focuses on unhealed wounds, impositions, limiting habits, and labels that make life feel claustrophobic.  Through the use of body awareness, visualization, art, and other experiential opportunities, the whole person is used in the healing process.  This promotes understanding, increases flexibility, and improves the ability to respond in meaningful ways.

Sexual orientation, gender identity and expression are rich opportunities to introspect and forge new directions.  With therapy, you shed predetermined boxes to make room for who you are meant to be.
